Almost 150 years after his death, a Civil War soldier is now headed home to rest in peace.Tuesday, at Antietam National Battlefield, the remains of the unknown soldier found at the battlefield last October were transferred from the Park Service to the State of New York.
The soldier will be reburied at 10 a.m. Thursday on the 147th anniversary of the clash, also called the Battle of Sharpsburg.
