One-act plays will look at Civil War lives of Walt Whitman and Robert Smalls

Two one-act plays being staged at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois, bring to life true stories of the Civil War. “Lilacs and Letters” and “Small Beginnings” look at the struggles, sacrifices and resilience of the time, according to the library.
