Tennessee Civil War re-enactor Colonel T. Michael Cheaves
has been laid to rest with a 21-gun salute as family, friends, and
fellow re-enactors dressed in period costumes paid their last respects. Since
he was a retired detective from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department, he
received another 21-gun salute. Cheaves was known for refurbishing saddles and training horses to
prepare them for the sights and sounds of battle during events. • Article
