Harriet Tubman: Abolitionist and Union spy
With the
Treasury Department announcing Wednesday that Harriet Tubman will replace
President Andrew Jackson on the front of the $20 bill, the Washington Post
reports that it is noteworthy that her legacy extends beyond her extensive
contributions to the abolition movement and into her work as a Union spy who
oversaw a Special Operations unit of sorts, according to numerous accounts. • Article
