The commemoration of the Civil War's 150th anniversary is a welcome gift for the Museum of the Confederacy, bringing rare attention to a Richmond institution whose attendance has softened in the past two decades. Later this month, the museum wil opens its branch in Appomattox, site of Gen. Robert E. Lee's surrender. Spokesman Sam Craghead said the museum is trying to tell the story of a phase of American history. "If you're going to learn from history, you have to know everything." •
